Here are just a few "Best Reasons" to join our Medford Youth Hockey Travel Team Hockey and In-House Hockey programs!

  • Team Practices and Skills at Convenient Location & Weekday Times!

Our entire program of Travel Teams, House League Teams, Learn to Skate & Development Groups skate their practices and skills and some games at LoConte Rink managed by the City of Medford’s Recreation Dept. and located in Medford off Route 16 within the Hormel Stadium Complex with plenty of parking and access to public transportation.

  • Weekday Travel Team Skills and Goalie Skills Sessions!

We offer skills session for our travel teams throughout the season at convenient times. Contracted professional instructors provide our travel team players and goalies with the best player skills and goalie skills in the area.

  • Travel Team "Keeper" Jerseys for All Players - Same Jersey Number Each Season!

All MRHA Travel Team players will get to keep their game jerseys. Our players keep their very own jersey number as long as they play Medford Hockey. Best of all, jerseys will be custom fitted so that players will be sure to have a hockey jersey that fits throughout their time with MRHA. Over the next few seasons all travel team jerseys will be reversible Home & Away in one.

  • Affordable Player Tuitions and Goalie Tuition Discounts! Tuition Payments Plans!

MRHA Hockey Travel Team players receive (2) weekly team practices, team skills throughout the season, travel team jerseys to keep, and weekly competitive games in the area's top youth hockey league, the Valley Hockey League (VHL). Although the cost of ice and equipment rises each year, the Medford Board of Directors work hard to maintain the affordability of our program. We offer payment plans, goalie discounts, and financial aid to those eligible to ensure our program is affordable so we can offer hockey to as many children as possible.

  • In-House Programs (House League)

Medford Youth Hockey In-House (House League) Programs are recognized by Massachusetts Hockey as one of the area’s best programs for developing first time and younger youth hockey players. Embracing the USA Hockey ADM (American Development Model) for new and younger youth hockey players, MRHA’s In-House Programs offer three (3) levels of development,

 ·   Learn to Skate (First time and Beginner Players) that skate (2) sessions weekly

·   Development Clinic (Players who can skate, introduction to hockey) that skate (2) sessions weekly

·   Learn to Play (Team Hockey with practices, skills and X-ice games) that skate (3) times weekly.

  • Wi-Fi at our home LoConte Memorial Rink!

We even have something for the kids that don’t play hockey. The City of Medford managed LoConte Rink offers Wi-Fi for parents and siblings.

  • Coaching Development Programs!

We are very proud of our dedicated volunteer coaches who generously provide their time and energy throughout the season. Coaches meetings at the start of the season provide information from Medford Recreational Hockey, USA Hockey, Massachusetts Hockey, and the Valley Hockey League. All MRHA coaches are required to complete a mandatory online USA Hockey Coaching Registration, register with USA hockey annually, complete Safe Sport Training, and a USA Hockey mandated universal online Background Check.
